MBA를 보는 사회의 눈이 달라지고 있다는 점도 한몫을 하고 있다.
미국의 MBA는 경영자로서 배워야 할 관리 기술, 다시 말하면 어떻게 하면 돈을 더 많이 벌 수 있는지만
가르친다. 그것도 가능하다면 법을 적당히 피해가면서 버는 방법이다.
MBA에 직업윤리는 없다
초창기 MBA를 도입했을 때 중요하게 여긴 직업윤리 같은 것은 더 이상 가르치지 않는다. 그런데 2000년대 들어서 미국 기업에서 대규모 회계 부정 스캔들이 발생하자 직업윤리가 부족한 탓이라는 비판이 일게 되었다.
당시 미국 굴지의 기업들인 엔론, 월드컴, 타이코와 같은 회사의 CEO들이 회계 조작으로 줄줄이 감옥에 간 일도 벌어졌다. 이런 문제들이 발생하면서 돈을 잘 버는 것보다는 올바르게 버는 방법을 가르쳐야 한다는 자성이 일게 되었다.
MFA, CEO로서 갖춰야 할 덕목을 배우면 사업도 더 잘한다
MFA가 각광받는 건 단순히 직업윤리 문제 때문만은 아니라
MFA가 사업을 더 잘할 수도 있다는 점 때문이다.
MBA는 관리기법만 가르친다. 어떻게 하면 효율적으로 관리할 것이냐의 문제에 집중하는 것이다.
그렇게 관리기법에만 치중하다 보니 CEO로서 꼭 갖춰야 할 덕목인 모험심, 상상력, 창의력은 배우지 못한다.
MBA에서 배우는 것은 모든 것이 자로 잰 듯이 정확하고 정형화되어 있다.
얼마를 투자하면 얼마를 벌고, 그렇게 벌면 수지가 얼마가 되니까 돈이 얼마 남는다는 식이다.
그 수익률을 정부 채권 수익률과 비교해 볼 때 수지 타산이 맞으면 투자를 하고,
그렇지 않으면 투자를 하지 않는다는 식이다.
이런 MBA에서 배우는 계산법으로는 요즘처럼 투자기회라는 것이 없는 세상에서 투자할 만한 사업은
하나도 없게 된다. 특히 사업 위험이 무한대로 큰 벤처기업은 생겨날 여지가 없다.

도전할 수록 성공가능성이 높아진다는 것이다
현 시점에서 젊은이들이 생각해야 할 것이 있다.
머지않아 의과,
법과, 경영학과의 시대는 저물고, 인문학 전공자가 대접 받는 시대가 온다는 것이다.
아니 정확하게는 자신이 공부하고 싶은 것을 전공한 사람이 가장 대접받는 사회로 변화해 갈 것이다.

대기업에 각종 규제를 풀어주면 투자가 더 늘어날 거라 믿는 것도 잘못이다.
지금 대기업들이 투자를 안 하는 것은 규제 때문도 아니고, 노동시장 때문도 아니다.
더 이상 투자할 곳이 없어서다.
정부가 친기업 정책을 펼친다고 해서 자신이 졸업할 때쯤이면 취업이 어렵지 않을 거라 믿는 것처럼
바보같은 생각은 없다.
때문에 이 땅의 젊은이들 또한 생각을 바꿀 필요가 있다.
공직이나
인기 직종, 대기업에 안주하지 말고 좀더 도전적이고 모험적인 인생을 설계해야 한다.
현실이 녹록하지 않다고 해서 그것에 자신을 억지로 맞추려 하지 말고
당당하게 맞설 수 있는 용기를 가져야 한다.
취직이 안 되다 보니 어쩔 수 없이 떠밀려 백수가 되지 말고,
새로운 모험을 위해서 스스로 백수의 길을 선택할 수도 있어야 한다.

사회문화가 그렇지 못하다면 유인책을 써야 한다.
현대그룹을 일군 고故 정주영 회장도 맨손으로 사업을 일으켰다.
지금은 분식회계로 어려움을 겪고 있기는 하지만 대우그룹을 일으킨 김우중 회장도 마찬가지였다.
비록 대우그룹은 해체되었지만 많은 대우그룹 계열사들이 회생절차를 거쳐 경쟁력 있는 기업들로
살아남지 않았는가?
김대중 대통령의 벤처 정책은 그런 면에서 높게 평가받아야 한다.
벤처 붐이 꺼지면서 많은 문제를 유발하기도 했지만, 그래도 젊은이들에게 창업의 모험심을 자극했던 정책이다.
벤처붐이 한창이었을 당시 유행어가 ‘걸어다니는 100억 원’이었다. 코스닥 입성에 성공한 벤처기업의 창업동기들이 우리사주로 100억 원대 부자가 된 것을 지칭해서 만든 말이다.
이런 꿈과 기회를 주지 않을 경우 누가 벤처기업을 창업하려고 할 것인가?
기존의 대기업들은 규제를 완화해 줘도 신규투자가 크게 일어나지 않기 때문에 일자리도 많이 늘어나지 않는다.
