이계안 이사장은 서울시장 예비후보로서 박지원 정책위의장의 민주당 서울시장 후보 전략공천 발언에 대한
입장과 현 서울시의 가장 큰 문제, 그 대안을 명쾌하게 제시했습니다.
또 정책도 알고 능력도 알고 이렇게 하는 것이 제대로 된 후보선출.
정책 중심의 경선을 한다면 저의 지지도는 높아질 것.

엊그제 민주당의 박지원 정책위의장과 인터뷰한바 있습니다. 서울시장 후보를 전략공천 할 수 있다, 이런 발언이 그때 나왔었고요. 당장 파장이 좀 있었습니다. 어제는 이른바 친노모임인 시민주권모임의 김태년 사무총장을 인터뷰했는데 역시 한명숙 전 총리가 출마할 경우에 전략공천을 하는 것이 좋겠다 라는 그런 발언이 또 나왔습니다.
당연히 미리 출마의사를 밝힌 민주당 후보들이 반발하고 있는 상황인데요.
민주당의 이계안 전 의원을 연결했습니다.
이계안 전 의원은 그동안에 몇 차례 다른 언론과 인터뷰했습니다만 이른바 전략공천 얘기가 나온 이후에는
처음 인터뷰를 하게 되는데요. 어떤 의견을 갖고 있는지 들어보도록 하죠. 여보세요.

네, 새해 복 많이 받으십시오. 이계안입니다.
Q. 손석희:
예, 새해 복 많이 받으십시오. 제가 앞에서 다 말씀드렸는데요. 당 지도부 내에서 전략공천 얘기가
많이 나오고 있는 것 같습니다. 어떻게 받아들이십니까?
A. 이계안 前 의원:
'이게 아닙니다(이계안입니다).'
박지원 의장이 그런 말 했다고 그래서 저는 제 이름을 빗대서 기자들한테 그랬습니다. ‘이게 아닙니다.’
제가 지금까지 판단하기에는 국민과 당원들이 바라는 것은 오바마식 경선을 통해서
민주당이 대담하게 변화하길 바라는 것이지 전략공천 같은 그러한 일을 얘기할 때가 아니라는 생각이 듭니다.
시민과 함께 하는 경선이 이루어지는 그런 노력을 했으면 좋겠다, 지도부의 몫은 그것이다,

그러니까 선거에서는 역시 이번엔 이기는 것이 가장 중요하지 않느냐, 물론 과정도 중요하긴 합니다만.
그래서 아마 지금 두 분이 이미 당내에서는 출마를 선언하지 않으셨습니까?

네, 그렇습니다.

그분들도 이해할 수 있을 것이다, 이런 요지의 얘기를 한바가 있는데요.
A. 이계안 前 의원:
지금 정책위의장께서 말씀하시는 건 이긴다는 것이 중요하다는 것은 맞습니다.
이기는 전략이 틀렸다는 거죠.
이기는 전략이 누굴 갖다 한 사람을 갖다 이 사람이 우리의 후보요 할 것이 아니라
시민들과 함께 하는 경선을 통해서 사람들이 누가 어떤 인물인지도 알고 당의 그런 가치도 알고
또 정책도 알고 그 양반의 능력도 알고 이렇게 하는 것이지,
어느 날 갑자기 불현듯이 어떤 한 사람을 지정해서 경선에 나가는 것이 이기는 길이 아니다,
이런 얘기를 할 수 있는 것입니다.
서울시장 전략공천, 전략이 잘못됐다.
시민들이 알아가는 후보의 정책, 인물됨, 당의 가치 따라서
함께하는 경선이 중요하다

지난 선거에서 강금실 후보가 중간에 등장을 해서 그때도 이계안 후보가 분루를 삼켜야했던 것으로
기억을 합니다. 결국 인지도 문제인 것 같은데요. 본인의 입장은 어떠십니까?
A. 이계안 前 의원:
4년 전 얘깁니다. 그간 나름대로 열심히 노력했고요.
우리 손 교수께서도 기억하시겠지만 제가 딱 한 번 MBC에 나가서 백분토론을 했습니다.
그때 그 결과가 네이버 정치인 검색에서 1등을 했던 것으로 기억하는데 만약에 그때 당 지도부에서
약속했던 것처럼 그런 토론회를 열심히 했더라면 어떤 결과가 왔을까 하는 그러한 아쉬움이 남아 있습니다.
그렇다고 생각하면 이제 선거는 시작이고 아직도 175일이나 남아 있기 때문에
시민들이 많이 참가하는 서로 오픈되고 공정하고 바른 그리고 매니페스토,
다시 말해서 정책중심의 경선을 한다면 저의 지지도라는 것은 인지도와 함께 높아질 것이다
라는 믿음이 있습니다.

그렇다면 지금의 서울시 행정 중에 가장 문제점이 있는 것은 무엇이라고 생각하시고
또 잘한 것이 있다면 무엇이라고 생각을 하십니까?
A. 이계안 前 의원:
지금 서울에는 서울행정에는 사람이 없습니다.
이를 테면 지금 가장 대표적인 것으로 뉴타운 재개발을 비롯한 주택정책이라고 생각하는데
그렇지 않아도 오늘 오후 2시에 매니페스토로 뉴타운 재개발 정책에 대해서 제 정책을 발표할 겁니다만,
지금 원주민들은 다 쫓겨나고 사람이 살 수 없는 겉만 번드르르한 서울시 주택정책을 쓰고 있지 않습니까?
이것에 대해서 저는 아주 대담한 메스를 가해야 된다고 생각합니다.
그 다음에 집주인들이 같이 살 수 있는 그러한 새로운 개념의 주택정책을 써야 된다는 것,
저의 기본적인 생각입니다.

지금 서울시에서 잘한 거 찾기 참 힘든 것 같습니다.
잘한 것을 열심히 찾아서 제가 어떤 매체와 인터뷰하면서 청렴도를 내세워서 했던 것에 대해서는
저 나름대로 높이 평가하고 싶다 얘기했더니 그때 네티즌들 반응이 청렴도는 무슨...
그래서 그것도 제가 말씀드리기가 어렵네요.
